Design From Afar is Christienne Dobson Design’s virtual design service for clients outside of the Catskills, or for projects that benefit from a more focused and flexible approach—whether that means designing one room at a time, furnishing a space, or refining the final layers of a project.
While this is a remote offering, clients receive the same thoughtful, connected, and highly personalized design experience. After learning about you, your home or space, and how you live, we develop a clear design concept supported by space planning, visual references, and detailed selections that you can implement with your local team or on your own.
Design From Afar is a design-only service and is especially well suited for select rooms, furnishing projects, and smaller renovations.
All selections are sourced from retail vendors, and clients manage their own ordering and coordination. This creates a streamlined and flexible process while still providing a cohesive, thoughtfully developed design plan.

Once we move forward, we begin with a paid virtual consultation to dive deeper into your space, needs, and priorities and establish the scope of the design work.
03 — Floor Plans →
Space Planning & Layout: Using your measurements, drawings, and photographs, we develop a to-scale layout showing recommended furniture and/or cabinetry placement.
04 — Design Direction & Selections →
We create a cohesive design concept supported by finishes, furniture, lighting, and décor selections sourced from retail vendors.
05 — Final Design Package & Implementation Guide →
You receive a complete design package—including layouts, visuals, sourcing links, and clear implementation guidance—so you can confidently order and execute the design on your own or with your local team.
